Ok, it’s my 2nd time playing craps - Mountaineer Casino WV. I join a $5 min table with about 5-6 others playing. Everything’s fine, I’m playing Pass Line, taking Odds and an occasional Come or Place bet. Eventually the crowd thins out after playing for 1/2 hour and then I’m the only one left at the table. I keep playing figuring others will join.
After about 5, maybe 10 mins the boxman says, “hey buddy - why don’t you give it a rest.” He points to another pit across the floor and says, “Maybe you should try your luck over there.” This was after I had just won several Come bets and Pass Line bets to make back a chunk of my chips. No I wasn’t being an idiot nor had any drinks - just making normal bets and shooting the dice.
And while I was there playing on my own, I placed a bet for the dealers to try to keep them interested until someone else showed up. So, after the boxman’s remark, I colored up my chips, toked them $5 (because a couple other dealers were nice) and left.
Is there some unwritten rule that if you are at table by yourself for a period of time you should move along? Or was this guy just a jerk? BTW, after I left, 5 mins later there was 4-6 players back at the table.

Have you gone back to Mountaineer?
I was there 5 or 6 times last year during the daytime (Midweek) and like you, toke the dealers, and have always found them great and appreciative. Since the opened tables 3+ years ago, the majority of the daytime dealers are still there. I will say that a few of the box persons can be “testy”.
I usually go with 3 other friends and we arrive around 9am-ish and stay until 3pm. Try to get in a few hours in the am, catch a long, long lunch, hit it again in the afternoon and if its working stick around or if not, head home ( 2 hour drive Cleveland ).
My only real complaint is that they only seem to have 1 table open in the morning, which is packed with locals (mostly retirees sitting on their chairs) and when the do open the next tables, either at noon or 1pm its already packed. Its funny, in the morning
the old guys fill in and there must be 10 people standing around waiting to play. Not real smart management, in my opinion.
When the tables first open, fairly bouncy and after year or so, settled in real nice. I have noticed last year the tables were now on the downside. In other words, felt worn, divits and some real noticeable uneven spots. Its not like the dice should bounce perfectly in unison, but you can really tell when they land and one in a “divit” and makes a “hard left”. Actually, I have not gone back so far this year. Hate to spend 2 hours driving and find a beat to heck table all filled up.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
