I’m still not fully clear on the advantages/disadvantages of Placing a # or Buying a #.
This is my understanding so far, plz correct this if I’m wrong:
-Buying #‘s means you get True Odds but pay a 5% vig to the house.
-Placing #‘s means u don’t pay a vig but the Payout is Worse.

So what I notice, is that its best to “Place” the 6 n’ 8. And “Buy” the 4 n’ 10. 5 n’ 9 is a small difference in favor of Buying.

So when I get to the tables I will always BUY the 4 or 10 and PLACE the 6or8. Is this the best way to go?

E.g. Placing 10or4 pays 9/5. So $10 hit will be paid $28
Buying 10or4 pays 2/1 -%5 vig. So $10 hit will be paid $29
That’s a $1 dollar difference. All of us could find a way to use an extra buck.

The advantage of Placing the 6n’8 rather than Buying them is there but it harder to explain.

At no point in time is it better to buy the 6 & 8. Always buy the outside numbers at the highest breakage point you can get, usually $30 but sometimes $35. Play where vig is collected on a win only. Best deals in America are at Tunica where you can buy the 2/12 for $35, vig on a win, that’s a $209 payout!

You did get the ......never buy the 6/8 part right.

I’m sure others can explain when to buy the 4/10 and the 5/9…...sometimes you don’t buy the 4/10 or 5/9.

AC casinos charge the vig on buy bets up-front - usually $1 for each $20 wagered - win - or lose -costs you the $1 per $20 to make the bet -

Harrah’s Chester - charges the vig on a win - you can but the 5 and/or 9 for $1 for a $30 bet - but the 4/10 for $25 for $1 vig -

The AC casinos who have .25 and .50 chips limit their $1 buy 4/10 to $20 - charge that extra .25 up-front on each $5 increment

above $20.- they are ACH and a 2nd one that I can not recall at the moment !

I believe Mt.Airy and the Sands also charge the buy-bet vig up-front !
